It all started with a small 1,5 liter (0.4 US gal) jar and, in less than a year, my Kombucha brewing capacity has increased several folds to be more than 16 liters (4.2 US gal). And the same happened with Chaga tea. At first I got some tiny pieces of Chaga from friends, or I would buy instant Chaga powder from a superfoods store. Now my cabinets are full of dried Chaga that I’ve collected from the forest myself. But that’s not the end of it – my fridge and cellar (yes, a cellar – one of the perks of living in the countryside) house about ten bottles (standard wine bottles) of various types of flavored Kombucha, and about 3 liters (a little less than a US gallon) of strong Chaga tea, which makes about three times as much drinkable tea, when water is added. In addition, I recently made my very first batch of Chaga tincture.
These are some delicious beverages that also help you to strengthen your immune system and boost energy levels.
No longer do I need to buy beverages from the store, when I have ample supplies of Kombucha and Chaga tea in the house.
Not only do these beverages taste awesome, they are also super good for you. According to research, Chaga has one of the highest, if not the highest, concentrations of antioxidants, and it has numerous health benefits such as anticancer and adaptogenic properties. Kombucha, this naturally sparkling drink, fermented by a symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast, on the other hand provides natural probiotics that help you to sustain a balanced internal flora, which has been linked, not only to better digestion but also to mental clarity and mood stability. Just like Chaga, also Kombucha is loaded with antioxidants and thus both of these drinks help you to strengthen your immune system and boost energy levels.
